  • The CN Rock Pile is a public collecting site that's beginner- and family-friendly.
  • The Bancroft Mineral Museum downtown showcases the region's finds.
  • The annual Rockhound Gemboree (running since 1963) is the largest gem-and-mineral show in Canada.

Off-Season

Worth a visit in winter, too

If you're coming for snow rather than swimming, the area has a serious snowmobiling scene โ€” Old Hastings Snow Riders, Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers, and Paudash Trail Blazers maintain hundreds of kilometres of OFSC-groomed trail radiating out from Bancroft, including a winter route along the Hastings Heritage Trail. A paid OFSC trail permit is required on the groomed network.
